Lumera Mortgage
Privacy Policy
Last updated: October 18, 2026
Who we are
Lumera Mortgage offers mortgage services to clients in Ontario through licensed mortgage agents operating under The Mortgage Trail (Brokerage Licence 13052). This policy explains how personal information is handled when you use the Lumera Mortgage website, request a Lumera Mortgage Assessment, or contact us.
Mortgage services provided through the brokerage may also be subject to its privacy practices. You can read The Mortgage Trail’s Privacy Policy. This policy describes the Lumera website specifically; it does not replace any separate application consent or lender privacy notice.
Information we collect
When you submit an assessment request, we collect the details you choose to provide, including:
- Your name, email address, phone number, and contact preferences.
- Your mortgage goals, timing, location, and property details.
- Information about employment, approximate income, property value, mortgage balances, debts, payments, and your self-reported credit range.
- Any additional information you enter about your situation, and your service and optional marketing consent choices.
We also receive information you provide when communicating with us. Please do not enter social insurance numbers, banking passwords, payment card details, or identity documents in the assessment’s free-text fields.
Submitting the website assessment does not initiate a credit check. To prepare your full Assessment, a credit check is required. We ask for your consent first, and each borrower provides their own authorization before any credit report is obtained.
How we use your information
We use your information to understand your circumstances, review possible mortgage options, prepare your assessment, respond to your inquiry, and arrange the next steps you request. We also use it to maintain inquiry records, operate and secure our services, and meet applicable legal and regulatory obligations.
If you opt in, we may also use your name and email address to send you educational emails, newsletters, market updates, mortgage tips, and information about Lumera Mortgage services. This optional consent is separate from the consent to respond to your assessment inquiry, and you can unsubscribe at any time using the link in any email or by contacting us.
Consent and your choices
The assessment form asks for your agreement to be contacted by phone, text, or email about your inquiry. Optional marketing consent is not required to request an assessment.
You may ask to withdraw consent or stop optional communications by contacting us using the details below, or by using an unsubscribe option where provided. Withdrawing consent may limit our ability to respond to your inquiry or provide requested services, and does not require deletion of records that must be retained by law.
Who receives your information
Completed assessment submissions are stored in the website’s private records and shared with our secure client management systems. This allows our team to be notified, review your answers, and follow up with you.
Information may be accessed by Lumera Mortgage agents, authorized team members assisting with your inquiry, The Mortgage Trail as needed for brokerage services or oversight, and service providers supporting website hosting, record storage, communications, and customer relationship management.
If you choose to proceed with a mortgage application, relevant information may be shared with lenders and other professionals involved in the service you request, subject to applicable consent and legal requirements. Information may also be disclosed where required or permitted by law.
Storage, safeguards, and retention
Assessment records are held in private, secure storage. Access to the website’s lead records is restricted to authorized accounts. No electronic transmission or storage system can be guaranteed completely secure.
Service providers may process or store information outside Ontario or Canada. Information processed in another jurisdiction may be subject to its laws and lawful access requests.
Information is retained as needed to respond to your inquiry, provide requested services, and meet applicable brokerage, legal, regulatory, and recordkeeping requirements. Contact us to ask about the retention of your particular records.
Cookies and website technology
Website infrastructure may process technical information, such as an IP address, browser information, and request logs, to deliver and protect the site. Cookies or similar browser storage may be used for functions such as maintaining an authorized advisor’s sign-in session.
You can manage cookies and browser storage through your browser settings. Disabling them may affect some website functions.
Videos and third-party links
Videos and other media may be delivered by external hosting providers. Loading that content can send technical information, such as your IP address, to the provider. If content is embedded from another website, that provider may also use cookies or collect information under its own privacy policy.
Links to The Mortgage Trail or other external services take you to websites with their own privacy practices. Review their policies before providing personal information.
Access, corrections, and privacy requests
You may contact us to request access to your personal information, correct inaccurate details, ask about its use or sharing, request deletion where permitted, or raise a privacy concern. We may need to verify your identity before acting on a request. Access or deletion may be limited by applicable law, recordkeeping obligations, or the rights of others.
